There are many recreational activities that you can do while you're on vacation. If you find yourself in Alabama you might book yourself into a day spa in Birmingham. If you're traveling to New York City you might take a trip to the top of the Empire State Building. These are all fascinating things to do, but unfortunately they're also expensive. If you're planning to visit or move to Corona, California, you'll be pleased to know that there are plenty of places to go and things to do that won't cost you anything at all.

The Corona Department of Parks and Community Services designs and maintains a number of parks within the city limits to foster community spirit and provide a safe place for residents to relax after they get off of their shift at the tray packaging factory. The Department of Parks and Community Services is also responsible for organizing and running classes and clubs that help Corona residents and visitors keep fit and have fun. If you're in town, you can take advantage of them at low cost.

There are seven community parks, nearly thirty neighborhood parks, five special use parks, and eleven community centers under the Department's purview, so you should be able to find a nice park to have your picnic from Muskoka Catering in that's near your hotel or home. Most parks feature sporting fields and recreation equipment. Butterfield Park, for instance, has a softball field, barbecue pits, and a jogging track, while Stagecoach Park features a playground for children.

Some of Corona's parks have special functions. Butterfield Dog Park provides a leash free play environment for dogs and their owners, just in case you didn't want to leave your canine pal at a veterinarian clinic in London, Ontario while you're on vacation. Clearwater Park features a football field and several other sports fields, while Fresno Canyon is a nice place to go for a walk to enjoy nature. Most parks have washroom and drinking fountain facilities.

Some of the programs offered at city parks and recreation centers include adventure day camps for children, after school programs, classes for seniors, and amateur sports leagues. There are also classes like gymnastics and swimming where parents can pack up their baby's diapers and have some parent-baby learning time. You can learn about landscaping in a public park, go on a guided trip, explore your creative side, or learn a new instrument. To see the full schedule and sign up for classes online, visit the city's website at www.ci.corona.ca.us and click on the parks department link.
